Our first view of the mules. We could sure smell them on the way down. The trail is littered with mule poop, but the worst parts were the places still muddy from the GALLONS of mule urine excreted at least the day before. We decided either a mule can hold one heck of a lot of liquid, or when the first mule goes, it sets off a chain reaction in the others. However it happens, if mule piss was rose water, the Grand Canyon would smell like a garden. It isn't and it doesn't. Unless you have a pee garden, I suppose.
