The South Kaibab, scouted in the early days of the canyon as a way to avoid paying the $1 toll for using the easier, more gradually descending Bright Angel trail. Same drop, only 4 miles shorter. Oh, yeah, don't forget the South Kaibab is exposed to the screaming, torturous sun.
