Short on time, Keely and I ran back where we could take a ski lift up to the White Emperor City. This life-sized diorama of Lui Bei's death when he commanded his faithful military strategist, Kongming, to care for his children. This is from the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", a 3000 page, 120 chapter story about the fall of the Han dynasty. I read a shorter version in preparation for this trip and plan to read the whole thing as soon as I finish the 4 volume "Dream of the Red Mansion", another classic of Chinese literature.
