(unknown plant, I was going to look it up, but I like this story better). The towns people thought Blaylock was a raving lunatic, spouting crazed tales of a wagon train of 1500 souls wandering the forest in the snow. Finally some men went looking, and sure enough, there they were. The townspeople gave them food and clothing free of charge, and all 1500 people lived. One of the pioneers had said he "wouldn't sell his dog at any price" had later eaten his dog to stay alive, but since he hadn't shared it with anyone, he was a social outcast for ever more. The moral is: If you are gonna eat your dog, share.
