This is the view of the French Quarter you get from the river. Over the levee is Jackson Square, then St Louis cathedral flanked by the Calbido (government offices from Spanish colonial days) on the left and the Presbyterian (priests residence) on the right. The French Quarter is 6 blocks wide by 12 blocks long (we jogged around it one fine morning.)
