Ever cut 2x6 with a jigsaw? It can be done, but that doesn't mean it should be done. A circular saw works well, and contrary to the owner's manual, you can cut curves with them, just remember to let up on the power when it starts to bind. I didn't learnt hat until the next session - I am afraid of circular saws, they are noisy.
