Hypothermia is the greatest killer of any sailor. If it starts raining (and it probably will) I have an overcoat and pants made from goretex and treated with waterproofing. I have stood in the shower for 10 minutes without it soaking through. The coat is large enough to fit over the top of my life vest (and the pants are large enough to fit over my ass, so I have that going for me.)
