Every time I suggest sailing on one of the great rivers of America, people start screaming about the horrors of the barges and how they'll "grind your boat into paste." Well, as you can see from this bow wave, that is probably true. However, I think I am an astute enough sailor to be able to navigate around one of these monsters. While they are huge and scary, they are moving at a constant speed and are driven by professionals. It is incumbent on me to miss them, not the other way around.
