And then we were past the Sea Pearl 21, too. Her captain, John Moore, and Aaron Evans, her crew, later tried to make all kinds of excuses "We were over loaded." and the ever present "We weren't racing." Sea Pearls are expensive expeditioning boats with a rich history, they were right to try and defend it.

I will say this: It took about 90 minutes of careful sailing to finally pass her.In winds below 12mph, a Laguna is not very fast. Over 12? Look out, brother, 'cuz we be screaming.

Laguna Seis, Cinco, Dos, and Tres all reached Army Hole before the Sea Pearl. Only Laguna Uno didn't pass them - but he was chewing on her butt.

John, please forgive me for bragging about beating your Sea Pearl. It was kinda a big deal for me and Lagunas in general. Wanna see a video of us passing it?
