The leech of the sail is laid out along the long-way of the tarp. The first step is to make a reference point 6" in and 6" up from a corner. This corner will be the clew of the sail. Next, go up the tarp a ways and measure in 6" from the edge. Lay your batten along the marks and draw a line.
