It was a long, dull trip back to Bellingham. I left at 9am and arrived at the harbor at 6pm. I still had a full tank of gas and a quart of reserve when I pulled into harbor, but I was nervous the whole way, which really detracts from the experience. I am buying charts on the next trip, that is for damn sure.

I verified a 3.5hp outboard is well suited to my boat, I was able to moor into a stiff wind AND against the current, maintaining 3kts and still only have the motor on half throttle.

I am getting better at rigging, launching, reefing and retrieving my boat, too. I am nearly confident to take on passengers - should anyone want to sit for 4 or 5 hours.

I arrived home at 12:30am. A long, long day in a lovely part of the world.
