As the sun went down the wind came up and we began our run down the coast and around Cape Sable. The navigation was easy so the 'off watch' person could catch some sleep, but we were heading right into the waves.
The Laguna is a very dry boat, but as we cut waves and the water splashed away from the hull, the wind would toss it back up and over the gunnels.
Sleeping wasn't so bad, though. We were wrapped up in our foul weather gear so the sleeping bag just kept us from getting splashed. Sure, it was soaked, but it held the water and kept the wind off us. Quite comfy, really. |
