Other participants were David Chase, from Holland, MI, bringing his Mikesboat, Northern Gannett, David Ware of Rockport TX, with his stretched and hard-biminied Bolger peapod, and even a Canadian, Pete Lemarche, with a Nordica 16, Jester.

To round out the field, there were two Waverunner 17s as well, a blue one captained by "Mac" MacDevitt from Essex, NY and a yellow one sailed by Bob Grona from Huntsville, TX.

And finally, there were two travelers without boats, Paul Moffitt - the organizer of the OBX130 - and his dreadlock wearing, English accent speaking friend from work, Stuart Bartlett. They were going to shift between boats throughout the voyage.
